Warranty information
It can of course happen that a product no longer works properly or is defective. We are happy to help you with a solution:
Step 1: Can the problem be solved yourself?
It may be that it is a problem that can be solved through different usage or settings. So always check the product manual; you may be able to solve the problem this way.
Step 2: Spare parts
Individual parts for many devices can be ordered via our website onderdelen.emerio.eu.
Step 3: Contact the seller/store
Within the warranty period, you can take the device and the purchase invoice to the seller to process the warranty.
If you purchased the product online, please consult the return regulations of the relevant seller. In most cases you can report a product return via your account details > my orders
Statutory warranty
When you buy a product, it must have the qualities you may reasonably expect. In the Netherlands, there is no fixed term for statutory warranty; this depends on what may reasonably be expected from the product. What you may expect depends on characteristics such as price and the type of product. The term can therefore differ per product.
If the product does not meet these expectations, you may be entitled to free repair or replacement. That is the basic idea of statutory warranty. There are, however, exceptions. Below we answer some questions you may have.
What are you entitled to?
When you buy a product, you automatically enter into an agreement with the seller. This purchase agreement includes a statutory warranty. This means that if the product does not function properly, the seller must offer an appropriate solution (if reasonably possible). This solution may include free delivery of a missing part, free repair, or even free replacement of the product within a reasonable period and without major inconvenience.
If none of this is possible, you may in some cases be entitled to a price reduction or even dissolution of the purchase contract — in which case the product is returned and you receive a refund.
The statutory warranty means that you, as a buyer, have the right to a sound product with the qualities you can expect based on the purchase agreement.
What may you expect from a product?
You are entitled to a sound product. What that means depends on various factors, including price, product type, and what the seller has promised.
Wear and tear prone parts are common in household appliances. Some components last the entire lifespan, while others wear more quickly, such as motors, hinges, or rubber seals. Worn parts do not automatically mean the appliance is defective. Wear is not covered by statutory warranty.
Proper maintenance can significantly reduce wear.
What is the role of usage and cleaning?
The seller supplies a product with the expected qualities, but you must use it normally and as described in the manual. Regular cleaning is part of normal use and extends the life of the appliance.
If lack of maintenance or improper use causes damage, this is considered user error and is excluded from the statutory warranty. The same applies to not installing updates provided by the seller.
Our manuals describe how to use and clean our appliances. Still have questions? Contact our customer service.
What should you do if a device does not work properly?
If a product breaks down within twelve months, the law assumes that it was not sound upon delivery — unless the seller proves otherwise. You are then entitled to a free solution.
If a product breaks after twelve months, it is up to you to prove it was already defective upon delivery, unless the seller acknowledges the defect.
Want to claim statutory warranty? Contact the seller as soon as possible and within two months of discovering the issue.
Which warranties exist besides statutory warranty?
We offer additional warranties, such as the manufacturer’s warranty. These provide extra assurance and do not affect statutory warranty. You may also have received an additional warranty from the retailer where you purchased the product.
To claim such a warranty, contact the provider of that warranty.
Where can you submit a question or complaint about statutory warranty?
