All heating elements are made of high-quality stainless steel and cannot rust under normal use. If the kettle appears to rust on the bottom, in most cases this is brown deposits. Clean and descale the kettle and the problem will be solved in most cases.
To avoid dangerous situations, all our kettles are equipped with a boil-dry protection. This prevents the kettle from boiling over when there is no water left in the appliance.
We recommend descaling the kettle once every 3 months. With a glass kettle this may be necessary more often, limescale deposits can be visible on a glass kettle after the first use.
Ways to descale your kettle:
- Descale the kettle by using a suitable descaling agent for kettles and coffee makers. When doing so, follow the product's instructions carefully.
- You can also descale the kettle with lemon juice or cleaning vinegar. By doing so, you avoid using chemicals. Fill the kettle half full with warm water. Add the juice of half a lemon or a dash of cleaning vinegar. Boil the water and then let it cool for half an hour. Discard the boiled water and rinse the kettle again.
Note: Never clean the appliance with detergents. These can damage the kettle.
kettle.
Clean the kettle regularly for optimum performance. Never immerse the kettle and the connection base in water or any other liquid. Before cleaning, unplug the kettle and let it cool down. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth.
We use high-quality borosilicate glass in all our kettles.
This material has a lower coefficient of expansion than ordinary glass, so it expands less when heated and shrinks less when cooled.
It is very likely that the glass has been damaged before.
It is possible that the glass has already had a small crack or tear and has cracked further due to the pressure change during moulding.
